Tamil Nadu Moves Supreme Court Over Karnataka's Failure to Release Cauvery Water

The Tamil Nadu government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court after Karnataka refused to comply with orders from the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee to release 3,500 cusecs at Billigundulu. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay directed the legal move after actual flows fell as low as 158–550 cusecs against the mandated amount, and Tamil Nadu's proportional entitlement of 26.954 TMC far exceeds the 4.536 TMC ordered by the Cauvery Water Management Authority.
