Aadi Perukku Festival — Holy Dip at Cauvery River

Aadi Perukku, the traditional Tamil harvest festival celebrated on the 18th day of the month Aadi, is being observed today at Cauvery River banks across Tamil Nadu. Due to low water levels this year, the municipality has set up shower arrangements at Amma Mandapam Paditurai in Tiruchirappalli and pump sets at Tiruvaiyaru, with 600 police deployed for crowd management.
