Tamil Nadu Government Withdraws All Cases Against NEET Protest Students

The NEET exam paper leak controversy sparked widespread protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, with party workers and demonstrators demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Students, youth, and others participated in the agitations, which drew support from political leaders and film personalities across the country.

In Tamil Nadu, student organisations intensified their protests, demanding the complete cancellation of the NEET examination. After 36 days of continuous protests, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on July 25.

Following the withdrawal of the agitations, the Supreme Court directed state governments to drop all cases registered against students who took part in the protests.

Acting on this, the Tamil Nadu government announced the withdrawal of all cases filed against students who had protested against NEET in the state.

Minister Rajmohan confirmed the decision in a post on X: "As per the order of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, all cases registered against students who protested against the NEET examination are being withdrawn. Further details will be released shortly. Heartfelt thanks to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu."
