The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has published the main examination results for Group-2 and Group-2A posts on its official website www.tnpsc.gov.in.
TNPSC had issued a notification on July 15 last year to fill a total of 828 vacancies — 525 posts under Group-2 (including Assistant Inspector, Junior Employment Officer, Probation Officer, Sub-Registrar Grade-2, Personal Section Assistant, Assistant Section Officer, and Forest Guard) and 748 posts under Group-2A (including Senior Inspector, Assistant Inspector, Audit Inspector, Supervisor, Assistant Grade-3, Assistant, Senior Revenue Inspector, Executive Officer Grade-3, and Junior Secretariat Clerk).
The preliminary examination was held on September 28, with 4,18,791 candidates appearing. Those who cleared the preliminary round were admitted to the main examination.
The main examination was originally scheduled for February 8, to be held in two sessions — a subject paper for Group-2A posts in the morning (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM) and a Tamil language qualifying paper for both Group-2 and Group-2A posts in the afternoon. However, the exam was cancelled on that day due to irregularities in hall allocation and other administrative issues.
The rescheduled main examination was subsequently held on March 15. A total of 9,223 candidates appeared in the morning session and 9,244 candidates in the afternoon session.
TNPSC Controller of Examinations Venkata Priya issued an official statement confirming that scores and ranks for the Group-2 and Group-2A main examination have been published in two-way communication mode on the TNPSC website, based on marks obtained by candidates and other rules outlined in the notification.
Scores and ranks have been released for 525 candidates in Group-2 posts and 8,653 candidates in Group-2A posts.
