Chief Minister Vijay has long held the vision of building a Tamil Nadu free from crimes against women and children. In line with that goal, Southern Zone Inspector General Vijayendra Pithari launched a special action plan targeting sex offenders across the southern districts — a scheme that DGP Mahesh Kumar Agarwal has now announced will be extended to all of Tamil Nadu, with implementation already under way.
Speaking in a special interview, IG Vijayendra Pithari explained the framework:
"I have served with international law enforcement for several years. International police classify sex offenders into eight categories, each assigned a distinct colour based on the severity and nature of the offence. Offenders placed in these colour-coded tiers are kept under intensive surveillance. There is a focused effort to properly document their crimes in court and ensure appropriate punishment is handed down.
I have been implementing this system across all districts of the Southern Zone for the past month. Each crime is mapped to one of eight colours according to its nature — the most dangerous sexual offences fall under red. The scheme has already begun to show positive results in the southern districts."
